The Image History

When a cam window downloads an image from the Internet, it stores the image in a file. The name of the file is based on the current date and time. This means that each time an image is downloaded, a new file is created. This set of files is called the history, and it is stored in the folder <prog>\Snaps\<name> where <prog> is the folder that Camembert was installed in, and <name> is the name of the cam. For example, the image history for a cam called Frogs might be found in the folder C:\Program Files\Camembert\Snaps\Frogs. To view the history files, right-click on any cam window, click History and then click Explore.

Image files
The image files are in the same format as those on the server, which is usually JPEG format. This means you can view them in just about any image viewer or paint program or make a time-lapse movie from them if you have the necessary software.

The files are named cam-yy-mm-dd-hh-nn-ss.ext, where yy is the year, mm is the month, dd is the day, hh is the hour, nn is the minute, ss is the second, and ext is the file extension (usually jpg).

Navigation
You can navigate through a cam window's history and view the images in the following way:

1. Click on any cam window to activate it.
2. Press the backspace key to step backwards through the history.
3. Press the space bar to step forwards through the history.
4. Press the Home key to jump to the first image in the history.
5. Press the End key to jump to the last image in the history. The last image is also referred to as the current image — it is the most recent image downloaded from the web site.

As you navigate through the history, notice that the title bar displays the amount of time that has elapsed since the image was downloaded. If the border is not visible, you can also get this information by holding the mouse pointer over the window until a tool-tip appears.
