About John

John Croudy is the creator of Pink Mouse Productions and the author of all our software. A self-taught programmer, John has been working with computers since 1979 and has programmed in raw hex, assembler, BASIC, FORTRAN, C, and C++. He was born in London, but since 1996 he has been living in Finland.

John has worked in many areas of computing. From 1979 to 1988 he worked in the computer room of a large insurance company in the UK, and discovered the joys of ICL mainframes and DEC's VAX mini computers. From 1988 to 1996 he worked for various companies in the computer games industry, on such titles as Silkworm, Ninja Warriors and Die Hard Trilogy. In 1996 he moved to Finland to live with his (now ex) girlfriend who he met on a USENET newsgroup back in 1994.

Being a bit of a perfectionist, John has long been disillusioned with the state of the software world. He is often disappointed even with the results of his own work. This is the precise reason why Pink Mouse's Planetarium was never finished — it was just never good enough.

John is currently working at The Le Bihan Partnership writing plug-in software for Rhinoceros. In his spare time, he is building a modular synthesiser and learning how to repair antique clocks. He has his own personal web site here.
