About Baskets

Sometimes, while browsing images, it is useful to be able to collect some of them in one place for later review. PMIO provides Baskets for this purpose. The name "basket" comes from the analogy with supermarket shopping. While browsing the different shelves (locations) you choose items (images) that you want to buy (process). To add images to a basket:

A basket is a special kind of location. Instead of storing actual image files, it stores references to images. Because the references are in the form of addresses, the images themselves can reside anywhere. This makes it possible to collect images into baskets while browsing folders on any disk volume and the Internet.

When you first install PMIO, one basket is created by default. This basket is called, simply, 'Basket'. You can create any number of additional baskets. These baskets appear in the location browser alongside your drives and folders.

PMIO provides a Basket Manager which allows you to create, delete, rename and empty your baskets.

The baskets are also used by the Power Filter which works by scanning the catalogue and filtering images into the baskets you have specified.
