The Power Filter

The Power Filter can be opened by choosing Power Filter from the Window menu. It allows you to filter a set of images into one or more different baskets by using one of three possible methods. The top part of the window is common to all methods:

First, you need to specify the location that you want to filter. If it is a folder location, you can optionally include all the subfolders in the filtering process. Next, you choose a tab according to your needs:

No Filter

The purpose of this filter is to add images to a basket in bulk.

Rule Filter

This filter allows you to specify rules that will be obeyed during the filter process. This lets you build a system that works rather like a post office sorter. As letters are handled by the sorter, they are directed to various mailboxes based on certain criteria, for example the town or postcode. In the same way, as images are processed by each rule, they are directed to different baskets based on criteria such as file name, date, colour properties, etc.

There is a group of six tool buttons to the right of the rule list:

When a rule is selected you can edit it as follows:

If the image width is less than 320 pixels
If the file date is between 1 Jan 2000 and 31 Dec 2003
If the average colour temperature is greater than 50%

By adding more than one rule, you can add more criteria to the filtering process. An image must satisfy all the rules in the list or it will be rejected.

Note: The rules are not persistent across runs of PMIO. This is by design, but the rules may be made persistent in a future version of PMIO.

Duplicate Filter

This filter lets you find duplicate images. It works by cross referencing the images at the specified location (and optionally subfolders) with every image that is in the catalogue.
